10/31/2002: Happy Halloween, fellow Delvers! Of course, no Delver's Dungeon update would be complete without unleashing a new monster or two on you all, and this month is no exception! We've got the horrible Yellow Mold Zombie stumbling around, plus, seeing as how we're in the season of All Hallow's Eve, the dreaded Headless Horseman from another place on the Prime Material Plane is out looking for a new place to hang his hat! Don't forget to duck!
Keeping the spirit of All Hallow's, yours truly has done a quick rundown of three great 1st Edition modules that are perfect for scaring the bejeezus out of your favorite players. Check it out in our Reviews section.
Coming up in November, we've got a review of two novels from Jack Vance : The Dying Earth and Eyes of the Overworld. Also, we'll be posting a transcript of our recent interview with Gary Gygax, along with a look at the Trap Set from Dwarven Forge. Stay tuned!
11/19/02: Just a quick update - I finally got the review of the Dwarven Forge Trap Set online! Enjoy!
12/05/02: Hey all...
I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I have it from a couple of
friends/acquaintances of Dave Arneson that the old grognard himself is in
the hospital (again). For those who don't know, Dave has had two strokes
recently, the last leaving him in pretty bad shape...He lives in my area
(I'm very eager to meet him and talk to him for the web-page), and Radio
Sci-Fi has him in the studio semi-frequently for a chat. One of the hosts,
Joe Romero, and I work together from time to time and when we ran in to one
another today he gave me the bad news.
So if you all would, keep Dave in your thoughts this Holiday season.
Take care,
Bill Silvey, The Dungeon Delver
12/20/2002: A quick aside from the Chief Delver here to wish a fond farewell to my dear friends Sean and Krystal Bishop-O'byrne. These two wonderful people started gaming with me and have for the last three years put up with my 1st Edition AD&D obsession with great candor and friendship. We slew many of the foul hordes of darkness eh fellows? Myhrr Slayter and Van'Elia ride into the sunset today to the distant land of Alabama. See you guys again soon.
Hopefully, I'll have a meatier
update with new monsters and perhaps a seasonal treat or two, and fear not, the
fabled Gygax Interview is in it's final stages of transcription and will soon be
uploaded for all to read!
